Daily battles with kiddos

Okay...when my girls were little, things were really so much easier! But now, everything seems to be battle...when it comes to CF. It's a battle to do the vest more than once a day, a battle to take enzymes on a timely basis, to remember to take the Prevacid, and so forth. To be honest, I am completely worn out! I am tired of the battles. Sometimes I feel like I am the only one in my family in this war against CF. I KNOW what needs to be done, but no one wants to do the things needed to keep going.

Now both girls are on oral anitibotics, and that adds another battle!! Sometimes I want to scream-sometimes I do, lol!

How do you all deal with it? I know how important all these things are-especially for Kayla culturing Cepacia...there is no room for non-compliance.

I am sure that many have had to deal with this too. Thanks for letting me vent on it<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

OH Sweety!

I dont have any advice for you, but to just remain calm & let them know its not up for negotiations! If they see you get wound up then they might think (and probably are) winning!

I don't have any words of advice, I look to those of you with older kids to learn how to cope myself.

((((HUGS)))) Its hard enough with a beligerant 3 year old, I can't imagine what it will be like with a 9 or 10 year old.

Have you tried letting the girls take on more responsibility with it all? Maybe you could talk with the CF social worker. Ours was a part of a study that helped teens become more compliant on their own. She had lots of good ideas.
