My daughter is going in for her 2nd bronch a week from tomorrow and I am nervous. Between all three they have been put to sleep too many times to count so you would think I would be fine but I'm totally stressed...

It sounds like you concern just means that you are a really good mom. I work with children with Autism who are birth to three. I have so many parents that won't get on the waiting list for Developmental Pediatrician because they are simly not concerned.

Also my DDs GI has been recommending endoscopy for the past 6 years. I have put it off because at age 4 she the endoscopy and took many hours and reintebations before she was extebated. Her lungs seem to really enjoy the rest and her pulsox just get dropping. Well now the pulmonologist wants to do bronchoscopy while the GI does endoscopy. You seem to have so much experience. Have your children ever done them both at the same time?

Becca's Mom~ Emily just had a bronch and endoscopy done at the same time last week. She did very well with the anesthesia (propofol.) Her o2 levels were on the low side immediately following but came up nicely with a short period on o2, and then when they dropped again a bit on room air, a short period of just blow-by o2+albuterol.

They did not induce a 'deep' level of anesthesia for either procedure and she never stopped breathing on her own. Her cough was more frequent/productive the rest of that day and night but she's been fine. (She has a baseline cough anyway.)

This procedure was the 8th time she's been sedated and I still worry each time... that is definitely normal.
