dicloxacillin

DS just got switched to dicloxacillin and the label and my online research indicates it needs to be taken an hour before eating and 2 hours afterwards.

Pretty much just sent me over the edge as I'm feeling there aren't enough hours in the day. How's the poor kid going to eat? How do I tell him that he can't eat when we constantly encourage him to eat and have extra calories? Ugh!

HOw many times a day do you have to find a way to get that in? That's nuts and unrealistic for a CF kiddo, or any kiddo for that matter.

4 times a day, just like the keflex he was on prior to this.

Thanks Jaime, I've called down a bit since I picked it up from the pharmacy.

Most times he doesn't take his meds with meals. Only one would be the one he takes after school when he tends to snack as well. The point of not taking it with food is to get it absorbed into the blood stream and food may slow down the process; however, this is his prophalactic abx for the long haul.
