Digestive problems in adulthood

My son is in his thirties and was not diagnosed with cf until he was involved with fertility testing. As a result he was sent for genetic tests and it was then found he had c.f. and the vas deferens were damaged by the salt. This was a shock although he'd had a difficult childhood and I had told the pediatrician about the taste of salt when I kissed his brow and his hands and feet turned bluish and wrinkled when moist with sweat. Now he has digestive problems and is scheduled for surgery because of a weak spinchter (valve) in the stomach causing heartburn. Is there any male on the forum who has had these problems? I don't think our son has completely accepted the C.F. diagnosis although when I look back at his history I can see there were classic symptoms. Any input would be helpful. Worried mom
