Hey everybody. I'm David. I go to College in a small mountain town
in Colorado. The altitude of my school is just shy of 11,000 feet
and I ski multiple days in an average week. My Doctors told me
before I moved up here that I wouldn't be able to live here. I was
told that I would have serious problems breathing and that It would
be a unwise decision to live here yet now that I am here, i can
honestly say that I really don't have much problems breathing at
all up here and I aggressively downhill ski at the same pace as my
non CF friends without much problems. Although my PFT's aren't the
greatest, i am able to live a fully functioning life at high
altitude! But my doctors didn't think, and still don't think i
can. Does anyone else have a similar situation where you were told
by your doctors that your CF would limit you more then it truly
does?
