Just wondering as I am doing paperwork for Maggie to start kindergarten this year. Do you give a list of ALL the meds your child takes on a daily basis to the school nurse? I am very much for protecting Maggie's privacy but if there was an emergency they(the hospital) may need this info. So far I only mentioned the enzymes cause that is all that will need to be dispensed at school. Her nebs/daily meds/antibiotics etc is this info needed if she is receiving them at home?

I know they asked for that information during registration the other night and my husband said he took care of it... But now that you mention it, not so sure I'd be comfortable giving out all of that info either. Especially since none of the schools have a full-time nurse, so I'd be concerned with who'd have access to the information and why they'd need it....

I report everything. You never know if an emergency were to come up and that one medicine could cause a problem if they are given something else.

I'd rather them have it all on hand so they can make better informed decisions if the need were to arise.

I'm the same way, I give all the information to the nurse, and I even update her throughout the year when things change. I'm the kind that doesn't really hide anything when it comes to the CF, I figure the more they know and understand what my kids are going through, the better care they'll take of them. Sometimes the antibiotics and stuff can really change their personalities and make them hyper, so I want the school to know that - just in case they act up, or out of character.
