I saw a similar post in the Adults section, so I thought it would be fun to see what weird combinations our children with CF like to eat.

Emma is 6 months old and teething, so everything she sees ends up in her mouth.

Yes!!! Especially when my Nathan is sick.

Sometimes the combinations are stranger at times than at others. If he wasn't a boy, I would swear he was pregnant sometimes as well.

He use to like his cottage cheese, pickles, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, black olives, ice cream, and chocolate sauce, all together. We always knew if he was really sick if he wouldn't eat his tomatoes and pickles. He would also crave shrimp cocktail, which really isn't all that weird all by itself. He will dip just about anything thinkable into peanut butter.

I have learned to overlook and not look at all at what he is eating in combination so now that the question is being asked, I will pay some attention again. If he comes up with something odd or different, I will post again.

Shortly after DS turned 6 months, his cf doctor told us we should just feed him whatever we were eating -- ground up -- because baby food is so very low in sodium and fat. We got back to the hotel and I got his bottle ready and we broke out some snacks for ourselves. And DS went NUTS over dill dip -- had a little dab of it on my finger and then kept LUNGING for it. Was hilarious! Just wish he would've continued to show so much enthusiasm for food as he did on that day.

Garrans new favorite is cheese wiz from the can with no crackers. just squirted right in the mouth....

He has been living on it for a few days now, that and raviolli... But hey, each can has 630 calories. Although for some who have problems with obstructions its probably not a good idea, luckily garran has never had that issue, just the opposite.
