Doing your vest?

Just curious how everyone else does their vest. I do it any where from 1-4 times a day. Always in the morning and before bed and as needed in between. I always do it on the computer, I just put a paper towel down and let 'er rip. After I'm done just throw the paper towel down and spray a little lysol.

I do it in the morning and before bed...maybe in the afternoon if I really feel the need. What makes me feel the best is using albuterol (nebulizer) while doing it. It opens me up more and allows me to clear things out a lot better.

I use albuterol with it as well. I'm curious, what is the paper towel for? My guess is to collect what you cough up...?

Yes I use the paper towel to collect what I cough up, it's easy to dispose of and cheap to come by.

I just use the little kidney bean shaped bowls they give you in the hospital. I wash it out when im done and everytime i'm in the hospital i take a couple home to replace them

I do the vest once a day ( a little after i wake up) . I normally do it for about a half hour , sometimes 45 minutes. If i am feeling congested i will do it a second or maybe even a third time.

I use the vest twice a day (once in the a.m. for 30 mins, and once at night for 30 mins) With the a.m. one i use Pulmozyme and if i'm on my 28 days of Tobi i do Tobi after i'm done with vest.

What a visual - the paper towel and the basin. I guess I never thought what others use to collect their sputum. I use drink napkins that you can get in great quantities at Sam's, pretty in expensive. I don't care to look at the crap, so i can't imagine collecting it in a basin and washing it away. I just cough, spit and throw.

I have started to do the vest 2 hrs. straight and doing it 3x's a day for 30 mins not 20 min like I had stated before. seems to be breaking stuff up a lot and I have noticed not being short of breathe as much as before
