Dr. Apt. Monday

Okay I have a Dr.'s appointment Monday, May 1st and so I am doing the ritual last minute cramming. Anyone have tips for snacks guaranteed to add poundage in a day or two? Maybe some tips for stretching PFT #'s a notch?

I don't like to think of it as cheating as much as getting my optimum results. Any tips would be appreciated.

Kick ass milkshakes from hell:

Oreo Milkshake
1 cup half and half
One packet carnation instant breakfast
1/2 cup cookies and cream full fat ice cream (Hagen daz and ben and Jerry's is unholy)
5 Double Stuff Oreos
Mix in the blender. Die of a heart attack.

The anti G tube shake (saved Ry many times)
3/4 cup Half & Half
1 cup Heavy Cream
2tbsp NestleQuick
One soft brownie
Blend. Pour. Flip off the docs. (When we estimated this, it was over 1,000 cals)

simple, adaptable, shake
1 packet of shake powder, any flavor
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup pudding, any flavor
2 scoops of full fat ice cream, any flavor

Any flavor you want!

Ry's peanut butter cup

1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
3 tablespoons chocolate syrup
1 1/2 cup. chocolate ice cream

Blend in blender.

You should try smoking 4 packs of cigarettes and not eating till monday and seeing what your worst results can be hehehe..

Where heavy socks, padded bra & rocks in your pockets.......good idea probably not, but I have done it to avoid the lecture. SHHHHH!

I used to drink about a lb or two of liquid and stuff my pockets with coins and such. I'm always weighed with my clothes on, minus a coat of coarse. Lately I've improved my weight so I haven't done anything but the usual cell phone, keys, pills and wallet.

I usually eat a really big meal before weigh in, and I try to wear clothes that don't look big but are. This is only when I know I may get the lecture.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

Don't go to the bathroom before you get weighed. It is always good for a pound or two. And eat a big meal before you go in. It is definitely cheating but it makes us feel better. Especially, if you always get lectured.

drink lots of water before you're weighed...that always works for me! as for the PFT tips, i dont have any, sorry! if anyone does they'd be greatly appreciated!!

I dont have cf, but I used (did you notice the past tense?) to have a weight problem, well now I have the total opposite....anyway, I was really thin and couldnt gain weight...lol...I always wanted to, and still want to, donate blood but they wont let you unless you weigh 110 pounds......so I put those big fishing weights, and I am talking big ones, the ones they use to weight down the trout lines, in my pockets....it made me weigh 112....they still didnt let me give blood, cause she said the scales were way off and I didnt weigh that much....

Ahhh haaa haaa...fishing weights! thats so creative, small stealthy little weights...ahhhh ha ha ha.... no lecture for me on Monday *victory boogie in living room*

I took small wrist weights that weighed about 1lbs each and put into the pockets of my heavy baggy jeans with a really tight belt so they wouldnt fall off. They dont make noise like change or fish weights. You could wear boot or flare cut jeans that are a little long (that cover ur ankles even when you sit down) (you hadnt had time to get them taken up if they ask), and put some ankle weights on that are about 2 lbs each, if you can handle it. Take an extra bag with you, and after weighing, tell them you need to use the bathroom so you can take them off. This works best if someone goes with you so you can pass the bag off to them and they can carry it. Just dont use 5lbs - 10 lbs weights, it will make you look bad next time around, plus the doctor might know something is up.

Also before you go, weigh on a bathroom scale with different jeans and shirt combos. Write it down, and what ever weighs the most, wear it that day. Just dont include shoes.

Just a note, I have actually done the first one I suggested (wrist weights in pocket). It worked. I have only thought about the second plan, but have not tried it. Hope my doctor dont see this...lol.

Magnets. My husband has them lying around the house everywhere and there are two of them that weigh about a pound each. Slip them in each pocket. On the way to clinic take BIG bottle of water and drink it all down. Wear the heaviest clothes I have with a sweater during the winter and once the weighing is done make a mad dash to the bathroom to pee and strip out of the sweater. Can't do PFT test with full bladder and sweating in a hot sweater.
