Eating Healthy

Well all my life I have been like way skinny. Part of it is from my cf but i also think part of it is just genetic because my mom is like 115lbs and she is 5'5" and she doesn't like diet she just doesn't pig out. Also my dad has really thin bones which he passed on to me. Anyway my mom is always telling me to eat more and trying to get me to eat anything no matter how unhealthy it is. like we were getting dinner and i said i wanted water not soda cuz water is better for you and my mom told me to have the soda because i need the calories. but I'm kinda starting to think that maybe i should eat healthy becasue it seems to me cf or not a persons body needs nutrients and not just junk. Has anyone else thought about this and has anyone actually stopped eating so much junk food and ate more healthy and noticed a difference in the way they felt?

I am currently 132 lb. im 20 and 5'1". I eat alot of junk but it never stays on me. But when I do eat healthy I can feel that I breathe better, my stomach doesnt hurt as much (obv.) but also I lose weight and to me when I lose weight I get nervous. But as far as getting nutrients from food, even any kinda food that is why we take enzymes because we dont absorb the nutrients we need. I think for us eating as much as we want whenever we want and whether it be healthy or not is great haha...but I def. wouldnt put aside eating healthy thats always a great thing too just add in every so often your heavy calories!! wo000 i love eating haha

I always try to make things a little healthier... but I struggle with the weight myself. I'm 5'5" and 108lbs right now. That goes up and down. I do notice when I eat things like carrot sticks and ranch dip versus potato chips, I have a bit more energy. I try to make things balanced though. Make sure I'm getting protein, fruits, veggies, etc. and then add the extra calories to that. Simple things like whole milk instead of 2%. So go ahead and drink the water with dinner, but eat a dessert after. That's my logic atleast <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

i no this sounds crazy to most people w/ cf but im a runner <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0"> (actually it keeps me really healthy) but one of the things we have to focus on is eating really healthy (somewhat!) we all eat a ton cause we burn it off really fast but our coach doesn't let us drink pop (we got in huge trouble for that!! lol) or anything like that.

i still pig out all the time i just dont pig out on extreamly unhealthy stuff! when i eat stuff like 5 tacos (lol i did that once) for dinner i always feel like crap the next day
