Hey guys, I read on another thread that Eflow was "a Godsend" and I wanted to find out if maybe it is something that could benefit us.

We currently use the ProNeb Ultra
We switched Albuterol for the ProAir Inhaler
Our aerosols are Pulmozyme and Tobi
Our next clinic is in 3 days and I will ask about HTS at that visit.

Currently, the Pulmozyme is about ten mins and the Tobi is twenty five. We are not on HTS yet, so would you say that the Eflow would be something that could benefit us??? I asked our doc once about it maybe 6 months ago and he said some meds are not compatible with Eflow. (not sure which)

Thanks guys!

Jessica, have you read Amy's blog on the eflow? She has all the data you are looking for that will support how wonderful the eflow is to use and how efficient it is in delivering the meds faster and in smaller droplets which enable the meds to travel deeper into the lungs. If you have other questions after reading it just ask<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://blogs.cysticfibrosis.com/categories.cfm?catid=1977&flcache=1186330&entercat=y">Amy's eflow blog</a>

I received my eflow for free 3months ago from foundation care pharmacy since I get my tobi reformulated for the eflow through them. They also give me my 7% Hypertonic Saline in individual sterile vials (5ml each quatity 60) for free along with cf vitamins.
<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://foundcare.com/index.html">Foundation Care Pharmacy</a>

I get my other meds from my local pharmacy. I use albuteral and Pulmozyme also in the eflow.

Times:
Albuteral --less than 3 minutes
Pulmozyme --Less than 3 minutes
HS 5 ml--about 8 minutes
Tobramycin 170mg 3.4 ml about 8 minutes

I am using the eflow as I write this and am very happy with it. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> I would not trade it for anything.

Good luck with your pursuit of getting one...you will not be sorry.

Thanks Jem.

The blog is the place to go and it will answer all of your questions.

But up front, all meds are just fine in the eFlow except for those in clinical trials. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Holy *#!* less than 3 minutes for an albuterol treatment?! About 8 minutes for Tobi?! I'm on my way to Amy's blog RIGHT NOW!!

Why hasn't my CF clinic told me about this? Particularly for people with compliance issues related to time, the e-Flow sounds like the ideal solution!! Is there some reason it's not being advocated for more strongly at CF clinics (or is it just MY clinic)?
