So my mom went to the Chicago CF conference and asked about the eflow. She said that a lot of the respiratory therapists and drs said that no one should use it, that they are still testing it.

Does anyone know where to find an article that said that the CFF approved it, or something that says it is good to use. I looked and couldn't find anything

No, the CFF has not approved the eFlow because it has not undergone proper clinical trials in people. That means that no one is really sure whether it will deliver the proper dose of medication to your lungs. Also, it's not clear that it can be truly sterilized the way you can disinfect standard nedbulizer cups. I'm hoping to meet with an eFlow representative next week to find out whether and when these concerns can be resolved. If anyone has any other questions about the eFlow, let me know, and I'll bring them up at the meeting.

Bambi I would love to hear where you received your information..... I think you are going be shocked at how innacurate it is once you meet with the eFlow rep!

The tests have already been done with a variety of CF related medications such as Tobramycin, pulmozyme with in vitro and in vivo. Serum levels have been conducted in vivo for eFlow + Tobramycin and enzyme levels have been conducted post-dose with Pulmozyme in vivo.

Sterilizing the device is as simple as boiling it.

But let me know when/where/from whom you got your information.
