For those of you who have never heard of Dr. Diaz, he was one of
the best pediatric CF doctors around. Unfortunately, he
passed away in November of 2004 after a very brief illness.
He treated our daughter since her diagnosis and was so wonderful to
her and all of his patients! He was a great man!!!
He will forever be missed, but thanks to some very wonderful school
nurses in Las Vegas, and many parents, patients and others who
wrote letters, his name will now appear on an elementary school!
This is quite an honor as his name was up against 240+ other
names...our local CF families couldn't be more proud!
This is such great news! I only had the opportunity to meet Dr. Diaz once, but was so impressed with him. Having him chosen out of all these names says a great deal about about him as a CF care-giver. I wish I could have gotten to know him better. Thanks, Keri, for all you did in getting the word out about this wonderful doctor.

I am SOOO happy to hear that his memory is being honored in this way. He was such a great man and doc, when my family moved to the Vegas area from California we felt fortunate to have him for a doc, he was always so kind and pleasant to our young daughter, always taking the time to explain to a then eight year old why she needed to follow the treatment plan. I had just heard about his death last year. (we moved from Vegas in 2000) He will be fondly remembered.
