Endometriosis

I'm getting so nervous...

I VERY recently found out that BOTH my aunts had Stage 4 endometriosis and had complete hysterectomies by the ages of 29 and 31. This doesn't sound too good for me...My Mom had cyst on both her ovaries constantly but was never diagnosed with endometriosis. I guess that is in my favor. However, endometriosis is genetically linked.

The one aunt (on my mom's side) had two children by her early 20's. She then got pregnant with a third child that she miscarried during the first trimester. She was then diagnosed with Stage 4 endo and had a hysterectomy.

My dad's sister got pregnant in her late 20's and miscarried within the first trimester. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 endo and had a hysterectomy. She never had any children...

My new GYN is strongly considering that fact that I have endometriosis in addition to scar tissue and adhesions...

I have my presurgical ultrasound May 16, next Friday. That will reveal a few answers.

I just wish I could close my eyes and wake up on June 1st! If I could do it tomorrow, I would. I'm am nervous, but I really, really wish it was over. I scheduled the surgery 2.5 weeks ago...It's been hard enough waiting this long...I'm so bad at it...

On another note, my baby-sitting gig has ended. Kelly graduated from PennState, and yesterday was my final day. So now, the wait will *feel* even longer. Her husband will be a stay-at-home Dad.

My boxer, Shayla, is getting 'fixed' May 20th. So that should be fun too...

Until then, I'm going to help out the neighbor across the street. She was diagnosed with cancer in December, and I have been going over a few times a week to help her out. Ironically, the house we bought belonged to her daughter so we actually have a 'neat' connection. My CF doctor wasn't worried about my passing MRSA onto her. That was a MAIN concern of mine. She is now on hospics so it won't be too long...I'm going over later today for a few hours.

Hi Jenny,

Hang in there! I know how it feels to wait and wait on these diagnosis appointments. It's very frustrating and I'm sorry you have to wait some more.

Enjoy spending time across the street with your neighbor. You're such a good person. I know she appreciates your efforts.
