wow...I am not sure what is happening around here, but I am going ot change the subject for a minute.

My babe is now 8 weeks old and has doubled her birth weight - go momma milk! Bu-ut, I have been super super nasty gassy since she was born. At first I thought it was just a side effect from the end of the constipation that I had being pregnant (tmi, sorry!), but it has not gone away - and as you Cfers know, our gas can be a bit, um, unpleasant. My family has been pretty nice about it, but I hate stinking up the whole house. Do you think that some how my metabolism has changed from breastfeeding - or that in breastfeeding somehow my enzymes are not working properly? I'm guessing that the increased need for absorption is taking a toll on what my enzyme level can handle and I need to increase my dosage. Right now I take 4 creon 20s with meals and 3 with snacks. I am going to try to up the dose, but I am hoping this is just a breastfeeding side effect and not anytihng else. ideas?

Did you give birth naturally or by c-section? When I had by babies by c-section, I had tons of gas, they said it was because everything was trying to work again correctly and not to change anything. They gave me some medicine to help alleveiate the gas, something like gasx. I was in tons of pain because it was just building up and not coming out. this continued for several months.

First of all...your baby is just adorable!!<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Second of all, I don't have any answers, but I will put a link to HollyCatheryn's website here and possibly she would have information there regarding this issue or you could email her & see if she's ran across this scenario in her research before.

Sorry I couldn't have been more helpful. I do hope it gets better!

Way to go on au naturel! I tried with first and did with second (at home). Much quicker recovery with natural.

I would think hormones could throw things off a bit. Are you taking a probiotic at all? It might help balance things out. I would assume with CF since you are probably eating even more calories it might throw enzymes off as well.

If you want to share you breastfeeding/birth story at our site, I'd love to add more moms with CF to the site as well.

He is so CUTE!!!! Go mamma!
