Enzymes being adjusted

Just wondering if you adjust your child's enzymes over the phone with your doc or see them in person. Maggie has been having HUGE poops this past week. Yesterday, she was VERY grumpy(not like her) took 2 enormous man poops and was almost crying that her bum hurts. She is due for her CF appointment in over 2 weeks. I usually just call the nutritionist and she adjusts Maggie's enzymes over the phone. Just wondering what ya'll do.

We have always just adjusted them ourselves, though nothing excessive. When he was a baby we'd adjust by about a half capsule. When we've gone to the doctor he usually asks how his stools have been, how many enzymes we give DS.
In fact we've always been told "you'll know if they need to be adjusted" by all of the health care professionals we've seen, which drove me bonkers 'cuz I didn't know -- that's why I was asking.

We have done both ways. Sometimes it just worked out that we had an appointment and other times something would happen right after the appointment and we would discuss things over the phone. These days, his doc and I do at least weekly emails about things, sometimes daily if stuff is going on. I really enjoy the email because I can ask him anything and he can respond when he has time so I don't feel like I am bugging him and then I can also really absorb and digest what his answers are to the questions.
I don't know if any of you have had problems with your little ones prolapsing or not, but beware of this if they are having lots of large poops. The first time it happened to Nathan it scared me to death. Then I became a pro at fixing it for him until I was out shopping one time and it happened while I was away and his dad couldn't fix it and had to call 911. By the time I got there, I couldn't fix it either, plus so much had come at that time that some of his intestine was out as well. We had to take him to the ER via the ambulance to get it fixed. Though scary, the result was that enough scare tissue developed from this one that it was one of the last times we had to deal with it, one more after and he hasn't had any more problems since. Anyways, if they are complaining their bottom hurts and have a hard time sitting, you should check to make sure everything is ok. I'm not sure how common it is but I always worry about the little ones having poop issues.

Sorry, this was more info than you asked for or probably really wanted to hear,

Thanks for your replies. Patty, Maggie seemed so uncomfortable yesterday I was worried she'ld get off the toilet and have a prolapse, but she didn't. I did try to call today but I think there is a clinic day tomorrow so I'm guessing I won't hear til then. Anyway, I'm just upping her enzymes a little bit til I hear back and then we'll decide what her dose should be. Our kids put up with so much
