Hey everyone! Sorry I've been MIA for a bit. My laptop fell off the recliner while I was moving Paige one day, and the battery went kaput!
Anyways, we had a Check-Up on the 17th, and things went GREAT! Paige is up to 12lbs. 8oz. and she's 24 inches long!! She's at the 25% for her weight, 50% for her height, and 75% for her head circumference!! I couldn't be happier!! The Nurses and Dr's were really impressed with her development, and they want to see us in 3 months now!!!
I wish that was the end of the story, but unfortunately, I'm learning that the road CF is paved on, is never smooth for long <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> We were home Sunday, and Paige started developing a cough. I didn't think much of it, because the weather here changed really dramatically, and I figured it was just a bit of congestion. By Monday, she was coughing even worse, and becoming a little snotty, and by Tuesday, we had a full on Fever, Cough, and her nose was running a mile a minute, as well as some diarrhea. So, I called the clinic Wednesday, and they had us go see the PCP. The PCP said she thought Paige's symptoms didn't warrant the 3 hour trip North to our CF center, but she increased Albuterol to every 4 hours.
As of today, the Albuterol seems to be working on her mucus quite a bit, and she spit-up her first mucus ball. However, her nose is still runny, and her fever is up to 100.6. She's also still congested a bit, and her diapers are now greasy again. We're giving her acetaminophen when things flare up, but nothing is getting any better. The PCP also wrote exacerbation on the script she gave me for the Albuterol....
So, is this an exacerbation? I searched through the archives here, and I'm still a little confused. I'm also starting to feel like I'm calling the CF clinic too much. Am I overreacting, or do they expect me to call this much? I'm just lost here again.
If anyone can help out, I'll greatly appreciate it! Thanks so much!!!!
