Expired meds?

I have some pulmozyme that expired in Jan 2008 that I don't want to waste! Can I still use it?

I'm sorry to say, you already wasted it by not keeping up with your treatments. (which I'm assuming is the reason you have some leftovers; if that's not the case, I apologize.) Even so, the medication is no longer guaranteed effective.

You could probably call the maker of the medicine or your CF center and ask about it. Since it exp in Jan 08, the exp date usually mean until the end of the month. Since it is early Feb 08, I dont see why you couldnt use it. If you do plan to use it, I would use it as soon as possible. I've always been told as long as it is still clear and not cloudy, nothing floating around in it then it should be okay. But different medicines have different rules.
