Extra tooth

We are just going back to "normal"after daughter's g tube surgery and now we've been told by her dentist that she has an extra tooth and it needs to be removed. That involves general anesthesia again, pain medicine again, probably constipation again and all the things that go along with recovery after surgery, CF is hard enough to deal with and now this. The tooth is not hurting or causing any problem, she already has all her permanent teeth out and this "extra" tooth is back far almost on the soft roof of the mouth. I know what a specialist is going to say, they want a customer, but is this really necessary now? specially when just few weeks ago she had g tube surgery? Please I need your input.

I would see a specialist and ask about putting it off since it is not bothering her. I would also find out if she definetly has to be put under or if using the giggle gas is a possibility. I know how you feel, my son also had a g-tube placed recently and it was a nightmare. He bled internally and lost over 40 percent of his blood supply. After all of this he developed an infection and needed a second surgery that took 2 1/2 hours to treat an abscess and retrieve a metal fastener that was stuck in his muscle. I can relate to what you are going through and the fear of putting her through something else.

I would see if putting t off for a little bit is ok so she and you can have a chance to bounce back from her g tube surgery. I will say a prayer for you and I wish you both luck!
