eye redness and tobi

We are having our first experience with TOBI. Our son is 3 years old and uses a mask for his TOBI. Today he is on his 4th dose and now has bilateral eye redness. They are blood shot on the insides of the white part near the nose but not the outside so much. I think it is from the mist coming up around the top of the nose and getting him in his eyes. I dont think he has pink eye because he is on Cipro and that should kill any bacteria like that. He has no matter in the eyes.

Any suggestions or words of advice.

Thanks,

Christy

DS has been on Tobi since he was a baby -- he's now 6 years old and I don't recall him getting red eyes from it. IMO, keep an eye on it. Tobi IS rather irritating to me when I sit with DS while he's doing it. My nose and throat kinda burn, so maybe it IS affecting his eyes. In DS case though, I don't believe it does

our son who is also 3 is on tobi; this is his second 28 day cycle. he gets a raspy voice after about day 5, but that's about it. I would try to make sure the mask fits well to minimize what is channeled toward the eyes. We use the bubble fish mask and it seems to work pretty well.

the only side effect my daughter had with tobi is that it caused her bronchiospasms if i administered it while she was sleeping...she would shoot straight up still asleep gasping for breath and coughing horribly....it really irritated me like Liza said, my throat was sore and scratchy...my friend (a resp. tech) told me they have to wear masks when administering tobi, so i started to do that....but my little girl never had any eye issues.
