Recently I've read a lot on false negative sweat tests - is this really possible?

It most definitely is possible. IMHO I also think there are many undiagnosed/misdiagnosed people because of it & I think somehow the mutations are a contributing factor to why sweat tests dont seem to be the gold standard of testing.

Yes, it happens quite often, especially if the negative is anywhere in the 30's.
