Feet Swelling Question

We were on vacation the past week and it was HOT (temperature wise). I don't usually have problems with swelling even during the summer. Saturday and Sunday my left foot and calf area got puffy. The other foot was just a touch puffy not nothing like the left foot.

As soon as we got out of the car and I started moving around the swelling went down. Hubby also rubbed my feet to try to improve circulation.

Could it have been due to the heat, the lack of moving around, blood pressure issue or could I be developing circulation issues now?? Any insights would be great.

Hi,
I have that problem every time I sit too long at the computer. My toes end up looking like little sausages. Years ago when it first happened, the doc couldn't find anything wrong, but put me on Lasix (a water pill). After a while, I just quit getting the prescription filled. I can always tell when my feet are starting to swell up because my feet start feeling tight. I just get up and walk around for a while. I think it's because sitting in the same position for too long starts to cut off some of the circulation.

Since having my second child, I am prone to feet swelling. It gets worse when I need more salt/electrolytes. Maybe you just did a lot of sweating in the heat and need a few extra electrolytes?

Good luck with this, whatever the answer.
