Fevers?

I was diagnosed at 2. I almost died from pneumonia. Well any ways I
never ran a fever, because of this They almost didn't think I was
sick (i was also turning blue). Well I've noticed growing up that
Every time I'm sick I FEEL feverish (chills, hot/cold,
uncomfortable) However I NEVER register a fever on a thermometer I
am normally 96.5 but as i've gotten old its been 98-ish. Is this
just a weird me thing or a CF thing???

Depending on how serious the infection is that alters my temp. Up until recently I never really ran fevers over 99.0 - 99.1. My last hospitalization was the first time that I had ever REALLY run a fever (101.0+) for several days. I had also been nursing an infection for over a month when I was sick last time.

Normally my body temp is about 97.5ish - so for me when I run a fever of 99.0 I feel like I am on fire - let alone 101. Maybe that is why you feel so hot when you are ill - your normal body temp is low so even a slight fever is alot for you. Just a thought.

I feel the same way. I'm usually 97 something. Over 98.6 and I'm hot.

When its 99 I can tell. A lot of times I have a low fever after dinner. My ears get hot and I feel crummy. It goes away after my treatments though.

Same as well, I run low and for me it's when I get a little chilly and then hot, my temp doesn't break 100 alot but to me it's a fever! As for does that mean your sick, pretty much yes, sometimes I'll have a bad weekend, fevers, fatigue, etc... and then feel better, we don't do anything about it but then it catches up to me and hits me hard.

I've notice 2 things through the years.
1) I never run a fever (except after doing PFT's--go figure)
2) My blood pressure is always low-ish

I guess I figure if I ever run a fever or have high blood pressure then I'll really know something's going on!

I wondered about blood pressure - my three sisters are all on blood pressure reducing medication and my blood pressure is "good". My doctor said that people with CF seldom have high blood pressure - hey! a bonus.

There was a post about blood pressure not to long ago. Asking how many people had low blood pressure or something. I think practically every CFer that responded had low blood pressure. The post was within the last 2 months (if not 1 month).

My normal temperature is also very low; so if I´m one degree over, I feel it and don´t feel good. Whats getting on my nerves is, that the docs always say "Oh, that temperature is no fever yet" and I have to defense myself, that for me it is...

i never have high temps. my temp is usually around 35.5-36. if its 37, it usually means i have a fever but because that is a normal temp for EVERYONE ELSE, they dont class it as a fever. really annoys me.
