I have been posting on this board re my daughter and her problems and everyone has said trust your instincts. Well here is an update i would still appreciate any input whatsoever. I finally got a referral to see a new pedeatrician. My daughter had at this point had the loose foul smelling stools for going on 4 weeks (about 10th -12th episode since 7 weeks old) She had also started drinking abnormal amounts of liquid . Doctor decided to admit her and now they are saying she may have diabetes insipidus. They are going to do a water deprivation test on monday. And new doctor has stated he does not think what is going on with the stools is gastroenteritis ,toddlers diarhhea etc etc. And is going to do various tests.I wanted to know if the diabetes insipidus has anything to do with cf or any other malabsorption condition. I feel we are getting closer to figuring out what is going on and maybe her stools are related to allergy , i dont know i hope and pray it is . So if anyone has any advice input it is appreciated thank you for all your help in my previous posts

I may have missed your previous posts, so forgive my ignorance here, but I assume that your daughter has been diagnosed w/CF already?
I am an adult w/ CF so I don't have experience w/ knowing if it's common for babies to have diabetes insipidus--I had never heard of it & had to look it up in my medical dictionary. It says "a disease characterized by chronic excretion of large amounts of unconcentrated urine & extreme thirst, alleviated by a pituitary hormone extract"
Now I have an idea what it is, but still can't help you much!
Hopefully some others can help you. Sorry I couldn't be of much help! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
