Fingernails?

Could be a fungal infection...I would run it by the docs just in case. My nails are brittle and never seem to grow the right way (lots of ridges, bumps and dents in them), but I have never lost one. I hope you find answers

JustDucky, mine are the same- bumps, dents... "meh" all around! Also, a few of them are starting to round and club. Anyone want to post photos of our fingernails so we can cross compare? I'd be curious to see how many others have brittle/weak/rounded nails like me

Also, same with acquagenic wrinkling. I've never seen anyone else's hands... but I know mine are kinda funky : /

An interesting study determined we age by domain as much as years itself. Nails age differently from eyes or skin. My nails got old fast thanks to fungus among us. Us CFers in particular get a nail bed fungus much like thrush because we sweat sweat sweat. I consider CF nail fungus a condition to be covered by insurance. Candida of the nails is preventable in non sweaty people unless you live in a rain forest.

To that end I would see a doctor for thrush or some other place candida can overgrow. And women need to discuss the trade off in months of anti-fungal pills to cure a nail bed infection. All of us operate within a balance of microbes. CFers are familiar with viral, bacterial and fungal balance in the gut. Women have an extra nest of microbes that need to remain in balance. Confirm you have a nail fungus and then commit fraud by insisting you caught it from sucking all 20 digits in your thrush infected mouth. Tell insurance it's for your nails at your peril.
