Try searching through the old posts here... this is something that people have addressed already several times before.

<br />My short version is:
<br />1)Plan on several hours -- usually with the patient it is 4-5 hours, yours might be less because if you are not to bring your kid(s) than that will cut down on things they will do.
<br />2)I always recommend taking a voice recorder or a note pad to take notes.
<br />3)You will usually meet with the nurse, doctor, dietician, respiratory therapist, social worker and at some clinics the pharmacist.
<br />4)Take a support person -- more sets of ears
again, if you had small children it's better to have some help too.
<br />5)If you were to have the kids with you, they would have several things done: exam by doctor, height and weight, PFT's (pulmonary function tests), labs (blood draw), chest x-ray and throat culture. At some point I'm sure they will want to schedule CT scans of lungs and sinus.
