Flu Shots

Does anyone else get reactions to flu shots? For the last few days (had mine on Wedensday), I been having low-grade fevers---especially at night---and the injection site is red, warm, and a little raised. I've had this reaction before, usually goes away after 3-4 days, but I was just wondering if anyone else has had any kind of reaction.

Thankies!

It is common for any type of vaccine for that to happen. Everytime my daughter received her childhood vaccinations, I was reminded it could happen. Remember that there is a needle & "Burst" of medicine going into one localized area to be disbursed later. It makes sense that there will be a slight fever & tenderness of the area.

This year I had the worst reaction to the flu shot. I had high fevers, and couldn't get out of bed for 3 or 4 days just felt like crap. The site wasn't very irritated at all, but it was bruised for a while.

I didn't get a fever or anything, but it was VERY sore for a day. I couldn't sleep on that side at all. I am noticing that my arm gets a "numb" feeling that is really strange. There is no tingle, just a whooshing feeling of numbness (although my arm doesn't actually go numb) - mostly in my lower arm and hand. I can't imagine what about the flu shot would cause it, but I seem to be noticing it since the shot. Probably just coincidence.

I have massive reactions to them. 2 years ago when I got it I got so sick right away, fevers, sweats, loss of appetite. Eventually in 2 weeks it led to an admission. Since then ive avoided getting the flu shot.

When I had mine done I tried not to flex my arm or tense my muscles when the nurse injected it. It worked, my arm didn't get sore, but I got that slight reaction. I could slam it into a wall and it wouldn't hurt, but I had a fever...go figure. Anyway, I'm doing better now, and thanks for your replies!
