my cervical mucus was always pretty thick. thicker than the typical eggwhite, probably halfway between that and rubber cement. robitussin helped thin it.<br>

When my husband and I were ttc, I started to pay attention to the CM, and I can say that I noticed a little bit of a change during ovulation, but it was never quite as "eggwhite" as it is characterized. Mostly, I noticed an increase in amount, and it was thinner, and lighter in color. It did take several cycles to determine the very slight differences, so don't get discouraged, because our CM is different. I even had a doctor once request to do a pap smear just because of the look of my CM to check for STD's. This was before I was even sexually active! Anyways, good luck if you are ttc!

I definitely notice a difference around ovulation. It is very sticky and stretchy. I don't know if it is thicker than normal because I haven't actually compared it to anything <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> , but my husband and I had trouble conceiving on our own (we did IUI to conceive our daughter), so i think it is.

I only starting noticing this clear, stretchy stuff a few months ago. I had no idea what it was, because prior to a few months ago I had never really noticed it!!! I'm glad you asked this question because I really didn't understand what this meant.

I would say I saw a change during my cycle when I was TTC. Have you read "taking charge of your fertility" yet? I never saw it as eggwhite as I thought it should be but there was a difference at ovulation. I used preseed to overcome it. Oh and also took Mucinex.

I'm just starting to chart and check my CM and I noticed the "lotiony" type and now I should be having "eggwhite" but it isn't like the eggwhite described in the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" It's definitely clear and slippery but not stretchy AT ALL. Who knows...I'm using preseed to help overcome that but have not starting on Mucinex yet.
