Right now I have someone come to my house and do my chest PT three times a week. It seems as though we go really well for a few weeks (i.e. fitting it in the required number of times and consistent times) and then all of a sudden we cant seem to meet at all. It is now WED. and I have not had Chest PT since THURS, thats almost a week. I dont mean to sound like a bitch and I know its hard to fit things in becasue I am a substitute teacher and never know when I am working...BUT honestly 6 DAYS without CPT is a long time.

My question for those of you with vests...was it hard to get approval from your insurance company? Did you have to foot any of the bill or did they pay for it all? How long was the process? Did you have any problems getting approval? I am kind of worried that b/c I get the chest pt that I might have problems getting approval for a vest...Did anyone else have that problem? I have a clinic appt in like 6 weeks and maybe I will get the ball rolling then. I just dont know what to do anymore...the company is short on PT ppl so I dont think there is anyone else...and it is hard to fit it in. At least with a vest I could possibly do it more...if I am feeling sick. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0"> *sigh*

hey there I didnt have any toruble but I have great insurance. I would think you can work with one companies, they do all the paperwork and 'lobbying' for you. They woudl be able to do an appeal and show the cost of chest PT compared to teh vest and if you are not married they can throw that in there as justification for needing it--thats what they did the first tiem for me.

I Think all you have to do is call your CF center and ask to get a RX for the vest. I didn't have any problems getting my insurance to cover it. I would look into it because the CPT sessions just aren't working well for you!!!

Hey.. I have The Vest 104 model I got it a couple of years ago, My insurance was Blue Cross Blue Shield and it is a PPO.. I had no problem getting the vest at all, My Insurance did not pay the whole bill though I think I had a thousand something dollar co pay but, I wrote a hardship case to the Vest company and after showing them my bills, etc, they totally wrote the whole thing off.

Everything you hear about the VEst company is true, They are amazing people, they will never take the vest away even if you can't pay for it, they will advocate for you with your insurance company.. Just get the script for it and fax it to the vest company......

Also I wanted to throw in there for me, the acapella works amazingly well.. I have the green one, and though I look silly driving down the road with it, it does just as good if not better sometimes airway clearance for me.. so maybe look into getting one of those as well, they are pretty darn cheap, and my last CF center in NJ would get me one at almost every visit and just bill my insurance.
