When I was pregnant with Ethan Sky my insurance company told me about life insurance I could get on him even before he was born.
We have another child on the way in September and am wondering if this is something that i should do, knowing the possibilities of it having CF.
Has anyone done this, or found any pros and cons with it?

Thanks,
Missa

Missa,
I am one of the fortunate ones who did get life insurance on both of my children who have CF. With the first one, my insurance agent and I wrote up the policy when she was about 11 months old, just in case something were to happen like she were to develope cancer or something...she was dx with CF at 14 months old. I was at the time pregnant with my second child. My agent and I sat down, wrote another policy, and I signed the policy prior to her being born. The only thing that we needed was her name and birthdate. We did not know that she had CF, only that there was that 25% chance. The day she was born, one of the first calls my husband made was to our agent, who in turn filled out the information and made out a check (his 'birthday gift' to Hannah) and submitted it. So she had insurance almost immediately!
I don't see any cons of it. It is all good! I think it cost about $200 a year for something like $200,000 per child. As long as you don't miss a payment, they will always have the policy.
Hope it helps<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
