For those with tube feeders

Ok, so if pancreacarb is the only enzyme that works for your kiddo, this is not a solution. But if your kid can tolerate the others just fine, our clinic talked to me about an alternative for using the zen pep through the tube now. Grantsmom shared this with me last week, I think, but the doctors mentioned it today too. I thought everyone could benefit.

Mix the zen pep with MAYONAISE!! Gross, I know!! But it will slide right through the tube.

Talk to your doctors so you can figure out the right dosing for your kiddo.

So, are the zenpep beads tiny like the pancrecarb 4's? when talking to our team about how we will be handling emily's enzymes, it was mentioned that some kids on tube feeds were able to use it (we won't consider it for her unless the creon dosing before and after feeds doesn't work out; as well as possibly switching formulas to another even more broken down than the Peptamin.)

My daughter has a 14French Mickey Button and I mixed the Zen Pep with mayonnaise and tried to push it through one of Mariah's old mickey buttons. Unfortunately it did not work. The Zen Pep beads are huge compared to Pancrecarb and Creon.

Really, Felicia -- that stinks!!! I haven't tried it yet, we still have a bottle of pancreacarb left. Alyssa's tube is also 14fr.

I wonder why they'd say it works if it doesn't???

Emily's button is an 18 french. do they put in bigger sizes as kids get older? (I haven't the faintest idea about this stuff yet, don't even know what 'french' really means despite asking 3 diff nurses...)

At our clinic I practiced using the zenpep with mayonaise and applesauce. They showed me to cut the end of the tube(the one that comes with the mickey button set)and place the tip on the end of the large syringe and then put the mixture directly into the mickey. The zenpep do look huge compared to the pancrecarb but I didn't have a problem with the beads getting clogged. I havn't tried it yet on Grant. I'm savoring my last bit of pancrecarb.
