Sorry I had to rant about this med that I just started on Friday... day 3 and I'm still vomiting and have joint pain, on Saturday I couldn't even get out of bed the pain was so bad. Talking to my doc today to get rid of this damn pill. My weight and lung health are too important to lose over some low bone density. Anyone else have this problem with this pill?
I haven't personally, but my grandmother did. She does well with the nasal spray, though. I forget which one she is on, but there are several. Calcitonin, Miacalcin and I think one more, but I can't recall the name. Ask your doc if a nasal spray would be indicated.

Not sure if it was Fosomax or Boniva but a long time ago my doc wanted me to get on it and the first day I felt horrible like I had the flu! So I said FORGET it. And stopped immediately and I never tried it again since. Good luck!!!
I tried Boniva a few years ago and decided the pain was not worth it. After consulting with a friend who has a PHD in Nutrition, I will never take these. They do not build your bones like they claim. The best thing to do is "eat/drink" your calcium. Another issue I was made aware by her, the bone density machines are not calibrated as often as they should be so it is more likely you could get an incorrect diagnosis.
