I'd like to hear from him too.
Miss you, Fred!!!
But I don't think the earthquake got him.
The earthquake was northeast of Tokyo and (if I remember correctly) he is southwest of Tokyo.

What Earthquake??!!
OH, must've been when I passed gas in the Bullet Train that was going 300km/h (Don't know mph, you figure it was fast, though!!)!!!, while going to Disneyland!! (NO~T!!)

I'm ok, just waiting for a different earth-moving event...like getting the phone call I've been waiting for in regards to a job!!!

With North Korea throwing nuclear fallout in the air (not to be mistaken for falloutboygirl16!); City employees driving home drunk, killing an entire family; and looking for a job, I hadn't heard about the earthquake, nor had much time to post, at that matter.

Besides, after a heated argument last week with the wife, I had spent the entire week studying 5 to 6 hours a day of Japanese...just to catch up from the last year!!

As for the job, I went in today for a second interview, this time met the company president. The company is originally from Germany, but is now a Japanese company with counter-parts in the U.S., and I think they still have a connection with the company in Germany. Anyway, they don't seem to run like a Japanese company (for example, they have Saturdays off, and if you work on Saturday, the O.T. is time and a half!). Though I applied for an Electronics Engineer's job, they offered me a job to translate Japanese to English; English Technical Writing; as well as do an Ei-kai-wa (English Conversaion) lesson to the Japanese who are frequently exposed to English. The company president seemed to have spoken good English, however. I'll be a little dissapointed if I don't get the job...I'm counting the days when my unemployment is up...and so far it's calculated to one more week!! Then I got about two weeks to find a new source of income before that money is all 'bye-bye'! (Man, I hope my tax return is big this time!!)

Thanks for thinking of me, though!! I know when the Big One hit Kansai (Hanshin Earthquake) in 1995, my family was quite worried! And that one was RIGHT NEXT DOOR!
Thinking back...that was like a roller coaster ride I wanted to get off of in a hurry when the sixth floor apartment building wouldn't stop shaking at 5:45 in the morning!! You could imagine how I felt about the after-shocks, couldn't you??!!

Hi Fred!
I know you said you want to "be cool" about the job offer, but I'm having trouble staying cool for you. It sounds like such a fine match. I've got all my toes and fingers crossed for you! And even if you don't get this one. It is some relief that you at least found it to interview for.
Let us know how it goes?

P.S. Tell me you don't live in one of those shortish concrete blocks that will just pancake.....

Glad to hear you are safe & an advance (results still pending) in the job search. Keep us updated.....I would cross various bodies parts also, but I am not as flexible as I use to be. My thoughts of Good Luck will have to be enough!
