Aloha, and a very Merry Holiday Season to all. I'm new to these forums and after reading several posts I see that there are some desperate families who are have a real problem with the high cost of prescription drugs, and not being able to afford the cost. I became diabled over 6 years ago and after depleting any and all monies I had was in the position that I could not afford the cost of my medications. The State I live in would not help me as they stated my disability payments were too high. After rent, utilities, food, etc., I still don't get that they think that $1,100. per month is too much. I started doing research and found pharmaceutical companies sponsor programs for individual's within a certain income bracket who can not afford their medications and who do not have prescription drug coverage. There are close to 170 companies who participate offering over 1,000 brand name medications. These programs are a direct result of an agreement between the Pharmaceutical Companies and Congress. The companies agreed to supply free medications and in turn their costs would not be regulated. Sadly most people do not know of these program. I have been getting my medications free for over 2 years now and have helped countless others do the same. My children and I have developed a website which assists others in the process of receiving their medications free. Please if you or someone you know needs help let them know that there is help available. These programs are for Everyone. Not just the aged, disabled, or unemployed. Even if you are employed you may qualify. I would be more than happy to direct you to the site, or answer any questions you may have.
Aloha, Pamela
