I know in my old hospital days I would crack some funny ones and or some outrageous things that no one would expect. What are some funny things that you said or did personally. I know the things that I did and said were always when I did not feel well.

When I had my nurses aid over last year before my transplant. The phone rang and the person on the other end said, How are you feeling? I said hold on I will check.

when I was waiting for my heart catherization, I waited for many hours as they had a previous emergency. Instead of getting angry, I cracked some jokes. When they finally came to take me down to the room. They said, "what is your name. I said Risagans waitingtoolong. I know it sounds lame but you had to be there.

Then on the way out of recovery one of the nurses started to talk about blood pressure and she mentioned that she has high blood pressure and I asked her in a serious way what causes this and she said, race, history, diet, stress, sex. I said, You have sex? she just lost it and fell over laughing.

So when the stress gets going it is good to get them going.

I have a hilarious story to share from my last hospitalization. Though I didn't do it on purpose by any means it gave me, my family and several members of the nursing staff a great laugh.

I am a huge fan of CSI (Las Vegas and Miami) along with pretty much any cold case, criminal investigative type shows. I love them. Well one of my first nights in the hospital this last time I was dreaming that I was investigating a crime (yeah I know I am TOO into the shows). In the middle of my gathering evidence I ran out of evidence bags. I started looking around (in the dream) thinking where can I get more evidence bags. Then it hit me I will call my partner and have them bring more. So I buzz my "partner" -- what I didn't realize was I had rolled over and hit the nurse call button while trying to "call my partner." A few minutes later I hear someone open the door and say "yes what do you need?" I roll over and face them and blurt out "I need biohazard bags." At that point I wake up (perfect timing .. I know). The nurse looks at me and he says "bags?" (mind you it is 4 AM) Then it hits me what I have done and what is going on, so I am grappling with how to make this whole situation go away and not seem so crazy and I go "um yes .. with ice in them" (all the while I was thinking GReat now I can't put evidence in them because they will be contaminated). I don't really know why I added the ice to the equation because I'm sure that made it even more strange but I had just woken up - so I have an excuse. The guy just looked at me and asked if I was alright and when I said yes he continued with "are you in any pain?" and so on. He then left to go get the ice. I got up and went to the bathroom (I was in an old portion of the hospital so the bathroom was not private, it was a few doors down from my room (my room was right across from the nurses station too). So I go to the bathroom and he meets me at the door with moe questions about whether I need tylenol, if I am in pain and why I need the ice. I am trying to get out of explaining I was talking in my sleep and so on gracefully, but the guy just won't let it go. Finally I just cave and say "Okay I am going to be honest. I don't know why I asked for this I woke up when I was asking you for it and I really don't know what I was thinking." He laughed and said OHHH that makes more sense and gave me the ice and let me go back to bed. Well the next night my fiance (whom I of course told the story too) tells the nurse she sometimes talks in her sleep - and he goes who ... you (and points at me) and I say "Yes." Then he chuckles and says "yeah I have heard." I about died laughing. It could have been embarassing, but I truly think it was one of the most hysterical things I have done while in the hospital.

Like I said I didn't do it on purpose and it may not be funny to anyone but the people that know me, but I thought I would share it.

Have a good one,
Lindsey

that must have been hilarious and I can relate as I talk in my sleep sometimes too.

Actually I think it was really cute.

That was absolutely hysterical. I laughed harder than I've laughed
in days! My husband talks in his sleep and I'll start talking to
him and asking him what he means and try to keep him going. He
wakes up after a few sentences and gets really mad at me, but he's
done it to me before. He had an entire conversation with me about
work while I was sleeping and I remember waking up and thinking,
"What the heck am I saying?" It's a weird feeling to wake
up mid-sentence!
