Hey guys,

I haven't used my g-tube now for probably 4 or 5 months (no need for it) so really I'm not upset or worried by this but I wanted to know if you guys think it's alright that I put gauze over it for a couple of days and see how it is then. I tried to put it back in and it was already closed up pretty much.

I figured this would be alright anyway since they just slide it out for other people in clinics and then go home.

If you are ok with not having one (and can take the chewing you may get from your Dr) then I say just watch it.

Sometimes they close up quickly, in which case you might be ok. However, if it doesn't, I'd call your dr and either get it put back in or have them put a quick stich in the hole.

BUT, I'm not a doctor, so take this as a personal opinion w/o any warranty implied.
