g-tube placement surgery cancelled

Alyssa has had a cough all week and it just keeps getting worse despite the augmentin she's been on for 2 days (I know not much time). So we have to wait at least two weeks to let her lungs clear.

I have no idea when we are going to do this now, lots of craziness in the month of November that may prevent this from happening.

I finally got to the place of acceptance and was ready to have this done tomorrow and BAM! change of plans. Now if we could just get some weight on her while she is sick (yeah, right) we could just avoid the tube alltogether. LOL. I guess its more realistic to just focus on not losing ground weightwise while she is actively sick.

Sorry to hear about the cough. I think it is a wise decision to wait til the cough is controlled. When you are coughing that much it would put stress on her tummy, maybe make it harder for the G tube to heal? As well as you wouldn't want her coughing any bacteria into the G Tube site while it heals. Hope she kicks this cough soon!
