G-Tubes and Pancreacarb 4s

My daughter just started Pancreacarb 4s and we mix them with applesauce in a 60ml slip tip syringe and put them right through her mickey button. I can't tell you how much better this is. No more fighting. Maybe in six months she will be actually drinking hher formula.

I hate my daughter's g-tube, but I LOVE the fact that medicine is soooo easy to dispense with it!! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> My daughter can finally swallow pills now, but liquid meds are a cinch -- plus it is a dream for keeping them hydrated when they get ill.

what are pancreacarb 4's?? my daughter is on creon and i have a HECK of a time getting her to take her enzymes. i know the creon capsule beads wont go thru my daughters tube, they get clogged and its a mess (tried it once...wasnt good). is it a powder?

They are Pancrecarb MS 4. They are capsules with beads, but the beads are smaller than the Creon. I know I tried the Creon in her mickey too and it clogged as well! It is awesome so far. However, it can get clogged but if you do it right as far as mixing it, it works. My husband clogged it once and he pulled back on the syringe, the beads come back out, and he tapped the syringe to loosen the beads, and then pushed it back in. The trick is to not get too many beads in the tip of the syringe, just a nice mixture. Good Luck!
