gastro tube

hi - just wondering if any one can give me some feed back about g-t tubes. My daughter, aged 15, weighs about 77 llbs and although she eats quite well is struggling to gain weight. Drs pushing for a gastro to be fitted for overnight feeds - any feed back much appreciated.

My daughter got hers at the age of 11. Loved it. She really put on good weight with it! It was really small so easy to hide under clothes. Just open before going to sleep, poor the ensure in the IV bag, plug into the stomach and go to sleep. Flush in the morning, close it and go on your way. My daughter did start to rely on it instead of wanting to eat food. Said she felt to full afterwards to eat food until around 1 or 2 oclock. Hope this helps.
