Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone is part of a book club they like? Any books to recommend that you've read recently and just love? If so, what kind is it? I like hearing of new books to read if they're the type I'm interested in of course, so I though I'd ask.

Has anyone read The Tipping Point?

Occasionally I'll read one of Oprah's recommendations. I enjoyed A Million Little Pieces.

I love the books of Dan Brown of course!!!
What you shouldn´t read, if you are a germaphobic is John S. Marr:"The eleventh plague" and "Wormwood" ( very interesting and exiting, but...)
I do also like the action and ideas of James Rollins and Matthew Reilly and thriller like the books from Karin Slaughter.
I do also have all the books from the "dragons of Pern" series from Anne and Todd McCaffrey. Steve Alten is also a very good writer, I´m waiting for his latest book to be translated in german!

Theres a fantastic book I just read called 'The boy in the striped pyjamas'. It was quick enough to read but really really good. It may not be available in the states yet though.

my fav author is ann rule. she writes true crime . ( i only read that genre. don't judge me) she is excellent not at all gory, just facinating what some people will do to others. most of her books are based on murders that happened in the seattle area. janet uk

Dragons of Pern is a fantastic journey--HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Also series by Jean Auel--"Clan of the Cave Bear". Lisa Jackson is another great author--I love her medival mystery/romance novels like "The Temptress", she also has modern-day novels. A great book is "Tuesdays with Morrey". One of my all time favorites is "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn"--it's a classic.

It's fun to see what you all are reading.

I like psychological thrillers (Hannibal -Thomas Harris), and gore (like Bear Attacks: their causes & avoidances - Stephen Herrero), crime (like Hells Angels - Hunter S. Thompson), mystery (The Breathtaker - Alice Blanchard) and informative finance books. I'm reading The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell right now which is about how social epidemics work which then can be applied to business. I'm really liking it.

Oh one llittle thing to add that I found amusing. I really enjoyed the fact that while I was reading Hannibal, I was in the hospital and at the same time there were some really scary hospital scenes in the book. At one point, I swear the hospital lights went out for a split second at the exact SAME time (same page) as in the book! Scaaaaary.

I'm not big on reading. But I do like to read Nicholas Sparks. It's sappy love stores that result in the reader crying. But I like him. Good books if you need a good cry and have nothing to cry about...hehe. I have read most of them. To name a few, I enjoyed "A Walk To Remember", "The Rescue", and "A Bend in the Road"....among his other ones.
