Realizing I'm the only one logged on so early in the morning (evening for me), I had realized what had been on my mind for quite a while.
The thought of getting a "vest" had been on my mind the last few months.
However, after my experience with trying to get hold of an eFlow, I'm quite hesitant for trying to obtain something that is much bigger, and much more expensive to deal with.
I was able to recall what I wanted to post late last night while dozing off.
I realized one major problem with using a vest in this country would be the voltage range for operation, given the thought that it has to be an AC supply, not DC.
Though the idea of having to deal with "after-service", "repairs", "replacement parts" and "technical support" has also come to mind, the other thought is having to deal with the shipping. First, I wonder whether the vest will pass the docks when importing. The other one, of course is the method of payment. Expensive enough as it is, I'm dealing with a currency much higher than the dollar, so I'd be paying an extra 25% at the most as it is. And, I would have absolutely no help from my insurance, since it is "national health insurance" (spelled "Socialist").
I did remember that I used to have this "hospital green" percussor from many, many years ago, which looked like a power jig-saw with a cup at the end (and was noisy as heck) that I left at my parents house. They may had taken it with them when they moved from Michigan to Colorado. I'd have to ask if they still have it, to ask them to find an Overseas Voltage Adapter Unit with the proper ratings and send it here so I would be able to use it. If, however, they no longer have hold of it, then the concern of getting a vest still holds.
I'm sure many of you still do some sort of PT, either by a vest or whatsoever. I get an occasional percussion from the wife.
My real percussion was from my days of Judo and Aikido, but those days were over three years ago. Now, my thought is that I may have to add that to my daily routine.

Does your insurance cover any kind of massage? Shiatsu or nearly any kind of massage will help to relax your muscles and that helps you to breathe better and deeper, so that the mucus can come out more easy.

As a matter of fact Uli, insurance does cover certain massages, like when I was having shoulder and knee problems. I haven't found a good doctor as of yet. The one I saw the most often was close to the company where I used to work at, but just last week I found a therapist (In Japan it would the the bone setting specialist, or maybe even sports doctor) and might be able to ask him.

I didn't realize that the massage could be equivalent to the vest or similar therapies. I suppose if I just explained to the sports doctor that I have breathing problems and need massage therapy for that, it may work.
I don't think I could do it daily, though once a week, maybe every other week would be possible.
I'll check that out....thanks!

Can you get a Flutter or an Accapella Choice, or a Quake? These are all handheld, small, non electrical and, compared to the vest , dirt cheap! (usually under $100 US). I'll see if I can find you some links. I have a Flutter (had it for over 10 years, I guess) and an (older model- doesn't come apart for cleaning) Accapella, and am working on getting a Quake. It appears to be about the size of the Flutter, is adjustable like the Accapella, but works while both inhaling and exhaling, and comes apart for cleaning. I think Lauren (LightNLife) said it was around $48 - I can double check my pm's if you need to know .
