DS has had sinus infections in the past and from time to time has had a little blood. DH thinks DS tends to get more boogier (is that even a word) when he's on tobi.

Maybe ashton needs some different meds. Last year DS had a green boogery nose from about January to March -- he'd had an ear infection, but then developed the nasty nose and I just assumed it was a normal toddler thing -- don't all kids get snotty noses in the winter time? Got to his clinic appointment and the doctor was really annoyed with us -- didn't we realize it could've gotten into his lungs, he could've developed a bronchial infection...? Put him on augmentin for a MONTH to clean up the infection. Grrr! My only excuse was that when he first developed the boogery nose, he'd had a local CF clinic appointment and I naively assumed that if it was something to worry about the three doctors who examined him then would've SAID something. Grrr!

Yea right now Ashton is on Omnicef for his ears after Amoxil didnt clear them up. He has had a yucky nose for about a month or so. but just in the last week the blood streaks in it. We were just at clinic yesterday and they didnt seem to concerned although today he had started runny and 99.1 fever under his arm so about 100.1 but hopefully whatever it is the Omnicef will kick it in the butt!!!

I always get into arguments with the clinic -- usually walk in when DS has an ear infection and a fever. They always want to put him on amox instead of augmentin and past experience after we're done with that -- I end up taking him back in for another dose of antibiotics -- so another office call, another 10 days of antibiotics..

Hopefully this stuff will kick in and he'll feel better soon. Have they suggested using saline spray at all to clear out the boogies and hydrate the nasal passages. There's some stuff called simply saline for infants -- we used the regular stuff. It's an aerosol with saline --- less chance of booger back wash. Bleah.
