Well, after 3 weeks and 3 surgeries, Graycie finally was able to come home last night. We are all so excited. She lost quite a bit of weight and is now under 20lbs but she is on her way. They wanted to keep her another week to help her gain weight but they don't have a clue about how to help her gain. She does not do well with continueous feeds and was throwing up and were concerned about it. My daughter also walked in and asked if they had given her her enyzmes yet and the nurse said oh, they are being disolved rite now in her applesauce! WHAT? My daughter and our family seem to be able to get her to gain and know her better so I am so happy she is able to come home.

YAY for Gracie! Hope she gains her weight easier at home (everything is nicer at home, isn't it?)

I'm so glad that she's coming home, what a difficult time she's had!!!! So glad to hear that she's doing better now.

My biggest frustration when we are in-patient is that most of the nurses don't understand the whole enzyme thing. I've had the nurse show up more than once telling me "its time for her enzymes -- shall I bring her some food?" LOL. I've educated them a million times. What I've learned is that you can't leave a kiddo alone the entire visit, there are just too many mistakes that us parents know how to manage and need to watch out for!!!
