I'm not a germaphobe by any means. I just have a hanky-phobia that grosses me out to no end.

My FIL has sinus problems and he's always always carrying around a hanky in his pocket. I've called him on it several times and his response is "I took it out of the drawer this morning. It's clean" It WAS clean. He's constantly wiping his face, blowing his nose and I never ever see him wash his hands and it drives me bonkers.

Just had to vent. He was over watching football yesterday and whipped out that disgusting hanky. Bleah!

My grandpa used to carry one. I never thought about it when I was little and used it all the time. Actually when i was little I thought it was neat. Now there is no way you would get me to carry my own let alone use someone elses.

My husband uses them & once had the nerve to offer it to be when I sneezed. OMG I gag just thinking about it & I am far from a germaphobic LOL!

My MIL talked to DH this weekend and said she finally realized why I was such a fanatic about the hanky issue. I was WORSE when DS was a lot younger and my FIL used to wipe his face with it. Bleah! Turns out my BIL, who has had sinus issues for years and multiple surgeries, was just given a nebulizer with a sinus attachment by his ENT and antibiotics, HS and steroids because he's not getting rid of a nasty sinus infection. Suddenly dawns on her that I'm concern about the nasty hanky issue not only because they're disgusting, but because my FIL also has chronic sinus issues.

So next time he goes to the ENT, they're going to ask that FIL's sinuses are cultured to see if there's anything nasty growing in there. And while he stopped touching DS with his hanky a LONG time ago, he still carries around those disgusting things. Baby steps.... L
