I have a doctors appointment tomorrow and didnt want to wait until the last minute so here is my post.
I want to wish all of you a very Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving. I have developed a lot of new friends from here and learned a lot about myself and CF (after all these years I thought I knew it all LOL). I know for some that the holiday will be hard because of a death of a loved one or their health is very poor. Please have comfort in knowing that for what its worth, My thoughts, prayers (for those that would like them) and wishes for the best holiday is with you and your families! I will be spending it with my family. My Mom is cooking and my whole family comes over for desert. We will be bringing some neighbors that have no place to go. They were surprised that we invited them. I feel that is what its about. Giving thanks and sharing where you can........HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE! HUGS/KISSES

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

My sister and I are trying to hold up to our late Grandmother's traditions and menu! Too bad the rest of our family is to bull-headed and selfish to enjoy it! But I'm sure we'll be stuffed to the gills. One thing we'll add to the menu though... is definitely wine!

We're also having one of my husband's employee's over. He is going through a recent separation with his wife and has never really had a family to count on.

Cheers!

Ahava and I are going home for thanksgiving. She's excited to go on the plane, and I'm excited to see my family, as my Brother and sister in law are expecting a little one and are going to 'unveil' the sex of their baby at thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Happy Turkey day to all of you! This year I am bringing the fruit salad to my parents for Turkey day - she never said it had to be healthy though! I am making Snickers Fruit Salad - yummmm!

I will be thinking of you all, and am thankful to know that whatever my question, comment or stubborn denial may be, there is now a place I can go. This forum has truely given me a new outlook on myself and cf this year, and I consider you all friends.

I am imagining what dinner would be like if everyone on this forum all ate together, and it is cracking me up. With the clashing personalities, germ control and large quantities of food needed, it would be quite the event!

Happy Thanksgiving to All of Us Americans!!! Remember, it was the Native American Indians who helped the new settlers with their harvest, and they celebrate it with "Thanksgiving". Too bad that's another unrecognized holiday here! (No Pilgrims!) Well, we've got the 23rd off all the time (Autumn Equonox), it just doesn't always land on Thursday!
I guess for me, it'll be stuffed Chicken and Rice!! And after that, it'll be me stuffed with chicken and rice!

I'm thankfull for "stumbling" upon this forum, and also feel I've developed a supportive group of friends. (Wallflower--It would be interesting if we had some big meal all together-- at an all you can eat restaurant, wouldn't it!)

Concensus: My question is, if I had the chance to come visit the states on the holidays, (I want to next year if possible), which do you think would be more meaningfull? Thanksgiving (Family related), or Christmas (Christmas spirit related)? Either way, I'd have to spend a pretty penny (yen, in my case) to come during the months of November to January!

Hoping for an enyoyable holiday (and everyone gains a few pounds) for everyone!

Snickers Fruit Salad, Banzai!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Anyone care to share their snickers salad recipe? It DID sound weird, but now that I know the ingredients, I want the recipe!

Carey here is my Snicker Fruit Salad recipe. I don't know if it the same one Wallflower is making, but I make this for all of our get togethers.

5 apples cut up
2 1-oz pkgs instant vanilla pudding
2 c milk
1 tub cool whip
6 Snickers bars-cut up

Pour milk into a large bowl. Add pudding mix. Stir until blended. Add Cool Whip, apples and Snickers bars. Stir. Chill 1 hour and serve. Best if served the same day as made.

I spose you could add mandarin oranges, grapes and bananas too.

Here is my Snicker Fruit Salad (I never used pudding before, but that sounds good - maybe I'll try that this year):

Cut Granny Smith apples into bite size pieces (I use 3 apples)
Chop up 2 full size Snicker bars into small bite size pieces
Mix together with Cool Whip, drizzle in carmel sauce and add a pinch of chopped peanuts!

Mix and add as you prefer. It doesn't take very long to make, and I like to make it just before dinner to keep the apples and cool whip fresh. Store in fridge so it doesn't melt.
