yup, we've had a lot of threads about NAC which is a pre-cursor to GSH.

you can do a search for NAC and GSH and see what this forum has posted <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

There is oral GSH and inhaled GSH (which is a buffered formula). We use it with our son and he benefits tremendously. I have some resource links here <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.cfnutrition4life.com/cfnu/articles.php?cat_id=4...we">http://www.cfnutrition4life.co...cles.php?cat_id=4...we</a> use TheraNaturals GSH Curc Caps and REduced GSH with bisodium carbonate for inhalation.

Some combine NAC with GSH therapy...we haven't felt this is necessary for us at this time but always keep and open mind about other things so this may change.

Best of luck with your research.

I have been using GSH orally for about 4 years now. It has helped a LOT. I get mine from www.Iherb.com

You can learn about GSH and what it does by going to these links..........

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://members.tripod.com/uvicf/research/glutathione.htm
">http://members.tripod.com/uvic...glutathione.htm
</a>

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://aolsearch.aol.com/aol/search?invocationType=bottomsearchbox.%2Faol%2Fjsp%2Fsearch.jsp&query=glutathione+and+cystic+fibrosis&x=30&y=7
">http://aolsearch.aol.com/aol/s...brosis&x=30&y=7
</a>

There is also a message board for cf and GSH......... <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://members5.boardhost.com/CFGSH/
">http://members5.boardhost.com/CFGSH/
</a>

I myself have never bothered with NAC, because NAC does help the body to produce glutathione but it can be toxic if you take too much. Taking Glutathione ( GSH) itself seemed the most logical recourse to me since thats exactly what the body needs. It isnt toxic, and I figured why go the long way to get it, when i can just take it directly?
although like Jody, i always keep an open mind. Since all of these are still in the experimental stages who really knows which is truely better? What works for one may not work for the other.

How do you know how many pills to take? I would like to order them but I don't know how many. For some reason, I am being really slow to understand the whole NAC GSH thing.

Sue if you go here <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.cfnutrition4life.com/cfnu/articles.php?cat_id=4">http://www.cfnutrition4life.co.../articles.php?cat_id=4</a> I have links as well as the ones above. You just have to read everything you can get your hands on and compare. CFF was conducting oral and inhaled GSH studies last year...but no one seems to know what happened. They are conducting NAC trials as well so we will see if these get completed or not. I hope they complete trials in both as it would shed alot of light on the GSH factor of Cf pathology.

Amy, do you list NAC studies on your blog?
