Well, I am home now. It was an interesting month for me. I was in the hospital for 14 days. I went home on Monday the 19th with a PICC. Wednesday the 21st, I had to go to the ED where they found a big 'ole thrombosis in my Subclavian. I was just released again today on Lovenox shots and oral coumadin, which I'll be on for 3 months.

We've obviously removed the PICC and I am taking oral Zyvox to finish out my antibiotic treatment. I'm not sure where my PFTs are. It's still very painful to take a deep breath, so it will be a few weeks until we can get another useful PFT. They had dropped to 93% when I was in the hospital, so still not terrible numbers, but not my baseline either.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday. Thanks for your concern!

Hi Jonathan,
Glad you are doing well now .. I have had 4 DVT's , 3 of them from a port & the other from a picc line. Since my last port was placed I have been on shots of blood thinner every day. My body just doesn't like a foreign object ! Merry Christmas to you & a healthy & happy new year..
joni

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the Lovenox shots. Luckily I only have to be on them until my INR gets to an optimal level and then I'll be on coumadin only for 3 months. I will likely have to prophylactically do coumadin anytime I need a PICC in the future. Just one more reason to keep myself healthy.

Bummer...sorry to hear about the added problem of the thrombo on top of everything else. Hope your PFTs are right back where they should be in no time.
