what and how they are used. The boys next clinic is Monday morning,

When I go into the hospital the therapists use a hand held "thing" that they move along my back and sides. It vibrates and it fits in your hand. They said you can get it for home use. Maybe contact the CF Center you go to and see if you can talk to someone in respiratory and see what exactly it is called and how to get it. Do you have a home health care company that you can order medical supplies from??? The hand held thing does need to be hooked up to a compressor that they said you can get at a hardware store. Hope this helps, good luck.

Hi - I think I talked about it awhile ago. My son was diagnosed 8 1/2 years ago. At Children's hospital they used a little rubber thing to do his percussion and sent it home with us. I don't know if they still use them or have them anymore. He hasn't been in the hospital since then. We also have a electrical percussor machine - I always felt when he was a baby that maybe that was a little too powerfull, heavy and noisy - but now he likes that one. I would check with a local childrens hospital or respiratory dept somewhere. I still use both of them.

thanks for the answers,<br>
In Scotland we have the N.H.S [national health service], where all
is free, but takes  a long time to get.  Money does come
into the equation also, we could go private but do not have enough
health insurance to do this.We are  very happy with the care
that our boy recieves .

We have and use the rubber cups. They are called Palm Cpus or Manual Percussor. They come in different sizes. I actaully have one in a package and it has a phone number. Maybe you could call and find out where to get one. 1-800-847-8000. We got them when our son was in the hospital. Hope this helps!
