I had my first hemoptysis when I was 7 mos pregnant. It was mild, I'd say just a few tbsp of blood. Since it had never happened (and I was pregnant) I was terrified and called 911 and was taken to the hospital. The bleeding stopped within minutes but I had 2 more bleeds that same week (all that stopped just as quickly). My doctor kept me in the hospital for the next 2 mos on and off until I delivered our baby.

Getting to my question: I was pressured by my doctor immediately to have a pulmonary embolism done. I basically refused. And of course on the second bleed and the third they were chomping at the bit to have it done. I was told that if I weren't pregnant they would have definitely done the emblization. To me that seemed REALLY drastic. I'm wondering if (fingers crossed) it have another bleed post pregnancy...should I have an embolism done? For EVERY bleed? How do other doctors handle this?
