Just wondering what herbal suppliments you guys take/ have taken and how you think they help or not. I am especially interested in anything that helps with head/body aches (I am taking too much Aleve), arthritis, depression, and of course boosting immunity and aiding digestion. Thanks!

Ok, well I didn't get any response but I did some looking online. My doctor also recommended some stuff. I'm now taking fever few for head aches and arthritis. It supposed to be good for any type of inflamitory condition. I've only taken one dose but so far its working better than all the tylenol I've been taking. I also started garlic, which I guess is the wonder drug of the herb world. Its a powerful antioxidant, and fights bacteria. And I'm also taking St John's Wort for depression. I spent about 40 bucks on suppliments today, but if I can stop taking so many drugs its worth it.

Sorry I missed this thread somehow.

I take NAC - after the recommendation of Dr. Warwick as well as reading Dr. Moss' recent Stanford study <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> That's about it for me with regards to supplements other than a multivitamin.

We give our son DHA (250mg), a probiotic, ADEK multi, Tumeric, inhaled GSH (200mg), and occasionally oral GSH for gut inflammation.

We've tried Hawthorn Berry (Crateagus) but it didn't do anything for him, though some have seen dramatic reduction in enzymes (especially with delta F508).

For colds/flu support as needed, we use Herbal Expec (just Guifenesen plus herbs) as decongestant, UMCKA for sore throat/upper resp issues, and we keep Oscillococcinum on hand for flu exposure (along with a perscription for Tamiflu).

There are many imbalances linked to depression; yeast overgrowth, undiagnosed food allergy (or medicine allergy), fatty acid imbalance to name a few. A intergrative, naturopathic or homeopathic MD/DO could help determine your unique deficiencies through testing and many will test for allergies as well. Many of the supplements you mentioned will work to rebalance the body, but sometimes more needs to be done to jump start the healing process.

Just some thoughts,
